Responsible Gaming

Poker should be entertainment. ClubGG is for adults 18+ only, and while its chips have no cash value, the time you put in and the money you spend on Diamonds and memberships are real. Here's how to tell if it's getting out of hand, and what to do about it.

18 and over only

ClubGG's terms require you to be at least 18, or older where the local legal age is higher, and the App Store rates the app 18+. Google Play lists it as “Teen”, but that doesn't change the age rule in the terms. If there are minors in your household, switch on parental controls or Screen Time on their devices to block downloads and in-app purchases.

What play money really costs

ItemThe reality
Club chipsNo cash value; usable only inside that club
Diamonds, club levelsReal-money in-app purchases; Diamonds run from $0.99 to $99.99
WSOP+ membership$9.99 or $49.99 a month, auto-renewing
TimeYou can play 4 tables at once on mobile and more on desktop with a membership; hours go by fast
ClubGG is a free poker client that only offers play-money games with no monetary value. If a club or an “agent” asks you to send money in exchange for chips, that is gambling. ClubGG doesn't run or guarantee it, and in many places, including mainland China, it is illegal. See Is ClubGG real money?

Warning signs

  • Sessions keep getting longer, and you often play well past what you planned;
  • after a loss you want to win it back straight away, and you move up in stakes;
  • poker is cutting into your sleep, work, studies or family time;
  • you hide from family or friends how long you play or how much you spend;
  • you play to escape a bad mood and feel restless when you can't;
  • you've started borrowing money, or you're thinking about turning chips into cash.

If two or three of these sound familiar, it's worth stepping back and taking an honest look.

Set your own limits

  1. Decide on a time limit. Pick a finish time before each session and use an alarm or your phone's screen time settings to hold yourself to it.
  2. Set a spending cap. Decide in advance what you'll spend on Diamonds and memberships each month, and turn on purchase authentication in the App Store or Google Play to stop impulse buys.
  3. Switch off auto-renewals you don't need. WSOP+ renews every month; cancel it in your subscription settings when you're not using it.
  4. Stop when you're losing. Don't raise the stakes or switch to a bigger table to chase lost chips.
  5. Stay away from real-money clubs. The moment a club starts talking about “top-ups” and “cash-outs”, leave.
  6. Ask your club for help. ClubGG's union back office includes daily and weekly win/loss limit tools, so you can ask your club or union admins to set limits for you.
  7. Walk away completely if you need to. Leave your clubs, uninstall the app, or delete your account through the official page.

FAQ

Can play-money poker still be addictive?
Yes. What keeps people playing is the thrill of winning and losing and the "one more hand" pull, not the value of the chips. Time and in-app purchases are real costs, and if a club privately ties chips to cash, the risk goes up sharply.
How do I cancel WSOP+ auto-renewal?
WSOP+ renews monthly and can only be bought inside the app. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, turn off auto-renew in your phone's subscription settings. ClubGG's terms say Premium memberships are not refundable; contact ClubGG support about unexpected charges.
Can I delete my account if I want to stop for good?
Yes. ClubGG gives an official account deletion page in its app store description (linked in the sources below). Think it through first: purchases and club data generally can't be restored.
