ClubGG Clubs: Who Runs What and How to Get In
On ClubGG, every table belongs to a club. The club owner sets the rules and opens the tables; players apply with a Club ID and wait to be approved. This page explains the club roles, how chips move, and what to know before you join.

How clubs work
A regular poker room opens the tables and seats strangers at random. ClubGG flips that around: the platform supplies the software, and clubs run the games. The Club Master decides what is dealt (Hold'em, Omaha, Short Deck, tournaments and so on), the stakes, the table size and the tournament prizes, and also who gets in.
So on ClubGG, "finding a game" really means "finding a club". These five pages cover everything club-related:
What games a club can run
The Club Master picks the games, but the menu is set by the ClubGG software. Here is what official sources confirm:
| Type | What's available |
|---|---|
| Ring games | No-Limit Hold'em, 4-card Omaha (PLO), 5-card Omaha (PLO5), Short Deck (6+) |
| Tournaments | MTTs, bounty (PKO) events, multi-day events, satellites, recurring tables, custom prizes |
| New mode | Cucurucho: a fast ring game with a periodic ante, instant-flop hands and Pot-or-Fold only |
| Club jackpot | Admins can put club chips into a Bad Beat Jackpot; Short Deck has its own trigger option |
OFC, PLO6 and All-in or Fold (AoF) are mentioned only by third-party sites and are not confirmed by ClubGG. Full details: ClubGG games.
The five club roles
ClubGG's own blog describes five levels, with permissions narrowing as you go down:
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Club Master (Creator) | Created the club; top role. Can request a union and disband the club. |
| Club Manager | Starts with the Master's permissions, except requesting union creation and disbanding the club. The Master can restrict Managers further. |
| Super Agent | Grants chips to their downline from credits and asks the level above for more. |
| Agent | Does the same for their own players. |
| Player | Requests chips and plays the games and tournaments. |
Three official rules: (1) a member holds one role at a time; (2) game restrictions flow down the hierarchy, so limits set above also bind those below; (3) an agent must clear their downline before changing role.
"Club Runner", "Union Runner" and "Game Runner" are community slang, not official ClubGG roles.
Chips, credits and the Counter
What circulates inside a club are club chips. ClubGG says they work only in that club, have no monetary value, and can be issued without limit by club admins. Chips move through a panel called the Counter:
| Counter feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chip requests | Members ask for chips; an authorised role approves. |
| Send / reclaim | Authorised roles can distribute chips to members or take them back. |
| Tickets and Vouchers | Tournament Tickets and Vouchers can be issued here. |
| Trade Record | A log of all activity, plus a list of pending requests. |
| Two Counters | The Agent Counter handles credits; the Member Counter handles chips. |
If a club is disbanded, all its chips and credits are deleted. That alone tells you chips are a scorekeeping tool inside one club, not an asset.
Clubs and unions
Small clubs struggle to fill tables, so many join a union and share tables with other clubs. The key rules: a club can be in only one union; players can still join many clubs; joining a union resets the club's gameplay data and reporting, though the Club ID stays the same; member clubs show a "Union Flag". ClubGG claims 120+ active unions and 2M+ users. More in our unions guide.
What a legitimate club looks like
ClubGG publishes a Media Guideline for clubs and unions. Checking a club against it quickly shows whether something is off:
- Allowed: promoting the club with its own name, logo and Club ID.
- Not allowed: using the ClubGG or GGPoker brand names in a club or union name, calling itself "Official" or implying ClubGG endorsement, or copying ClubGG content and logos without permission.
- Required: any promotional material that mentions ClubGG must state, in bold, that it is a free poker client offering only play money with no monetary value.
In other words, a group calling itself an "official ClubGG club" or "official agent" is already breaking the guideline.

The "real money" question
ClubGG is a free poker client that only offers poker gameplay with play money that has no monetary value.
ClubGG's Media Guideline strictly prohibits clubs from publicly advertising real-money gambling or any payment method that facilitates it (crypto, bank transfer, mobile payment), and violations can get a club removed. Some clubs do run money arrangements off the platform anyway. Those have nothing to do with ClubGG, come with no protection at all, and are illegal in many places.
