Is ClubGG Real Money?

No. ClubGG's terms say “free play only”: the platform takes no deposits, and club chips and tournament tickets have no cash value. The “agents” and “cash-outs” you read about are private arrangements run by some clubs. ClubGG isn't involved, doesn't guarantee them, and forbids clubs from promoting them.

What ClubGG says

ClubGG states its position on real money in several places, and they all agree:

WhereWhat it says (our summary)
Terms of Service §7, “FREE PLAY ONLY”Members can't wager real money and the site can't accept deposits; tournament tickets have no monetary value
Terms of Service §19(d)Site tournaments are “skill-based contests”
Official blog, “Club Chips and Credits”Club chips have no monetary value, are for use only inside the club, and can be issued without limit
Footer of every blog postClubGG is a free-to-play social poker platform and doesn't facilitate real-money wagering
Media guideline (for clubs and unions)Clubs are strictly prohibited from publicly promoting real-money gambling or the tools for it, including payment methods such as crypto, bank transfer or mobile payment; violations can get a club removed

The guideline also requires this official disclaimer to appear in bold wherever ClubGG is referenced in club or union promotion:

“ClubGG is a free poker client that only offers poker gameplay with play money that doesn't have any monetary value…”

Then why does the site advertise “$230K in monthly prizes”?

This confuses a lot of people. ClubGG's WSOP+ membership events really do award prizes: Road to WSOP Circuit gives out WSOP Circuit $1,700 tickets, and the membership Stages award Live Dollar for live-event entries. The legal structure works like this:

  • Sweepstakes rules: a footnote in the terms says site tournaments “could be deemed to be sweepstakes”, so the terms are written to sweepstakes rules, and the site footer says “NO PURCHASE NECESSARY”.
  • A free entry route (AMOE): §9(d) describes mail-in entry. Send a 3"×5" card to the Las Vegas address given in the terms and you get a 30-day entry period.
  • Prizes aren't cash: tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, can't be exchanged for cash or anything of value, last one year, and only work for WSOP Circuit events with a matching buy-in.

In other words, these are membership event prizes. They don't mean you can gamble money on ClubGG. Membership rules are in WSOP+ membership.

What “real-money clubs” actually are

Some affiliate sites openly describe clubs and “agents” that put a price on chips, take deposits and pay out by crypto or transfer, and advertise “rakeback” percentages. App Store reviews also mention Telegram admins who help people “deposit”. We don't list these clubs, their contacts or how they work. We'll only tell you what they are:

These deals happen outside ClubGG, as private agreements between players and club operators. ClubGG doesn't process deposits or withdrawals, doesn't hold funds, doesn't mediate disputes, and explicitly forbids clubs from promoting real money or payment methods.

Why the risk is so high

RiskWhy
You can't get your money backYour “balance” is just club chips, which admins can issue without limit and take back at any time; if the club is disbanded, chips and credits are deleted
Nobody is on your sideClubGG isn't a party to the deal and has no official way to recover money you sent privately
Account bansClubs promoting real money can be removed; the terms ban commercial use, collusion and multiple accounts, with forfeiture and termination as penalties
Legal exposureThe terms list prohibited US states and other regions. Taiwan's Criminal Code Art. 266, amended from 14 January 2022, covers online gambling with fines up to NT$50,000; Singapore's Gambling Control Act has only a narrow home-based social gambling exemption; online gambling is illegal in mainland China
Fraud and personal dataThe people taking payment are often anonymous and abroad; they may let you win small amounts to build trust and then vanish, and may ask for ID documents and bank details

Legal notes by region are in ClubGG availability by region. What an “agent” is in ClubGG's own role system, and why it isn't a payment channel, is in ClubGG agents explained.

How to play without the worry

  1. Play with people you know. Set up a club for friends, colleagues or your poker group, and treat chips as a scoreboard.
  2. Never send money for chips. Whoever is asking, whether they call themselves an “official agent”, “support” or the Club Master.
  3. Want prizes? Use the official route. WSOP+ membership events and official freerolls have published rules; see WSOP qualifiers.
  4. Report suspicious clubs. Report them in the app or through the official help center, and leave. More tips in Is ClubGG safe?

FAQ

Is ClubGG real-money poker?
No. Section 7 of the Terms of Service, “FREE PLAY ONLY”, says the site doesn't let members wager real money and can't accept deposits. Every post on ClubGG's official blog ends by stating that ClubGG is a free-to-play social poker platform that doesn't facilitate real-money wagering.
Can you cash out ClubGG chips?
No. ClubGG says club chips have no monetary value, can only be used inside that club, and can be issued by admins without limit. There's no withdrawal feature, and if a club is disbanded its chips and credits are deleted.
A club says it can “load” and “cash out” chips. Is that safe?
It's a private arrangement between you and the club or a person, not a ClubGG service. Once you've sent money, ClubGG won't recover it and has no dispute process for it. The practice also breaks ClubGG's rules and may break the law where you live.
Are the WSOP tickets you win real money?
ClubGG says tickets have “no monetary value”: they're non-transferable, can't be exchanged for cash and can only be used for matching live events. Membership events are structured under sweepstakes rules, and the terms include a free mail-in entry method. See WSOP qualifiers.
Is ClubGG legal?
Playing ClubGG as a free social poker app is how it's designed, but it's only offered where the terms allow: the Terms of Service list prohibited US states and other regions, and say nothing guarantees availability outside the US. Real-money club deals are a different matter and can be illegal. See ClubGG availability by region.
I was scammed by a ClubGG “agent”. What now?
Keep the chat logs and payment records, report it to your local police, and report the club and account to ClubGG in the app or through the help center. Don't send more money to “unlock” your balance; that's usually a second scam.
