ClubGG Availability by Region, and Legal Notes

As of 30 October 2026, ClubGG is on the App Store in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan, but not in mainland China or South Korea. Its terms also exclude a list of US states and other regions. Being able to download the app and being allowed to play are two different questions.

What the Terms of Service say

ClubGG's terms are written around the United States. The key points of §10:

  • Age: 18+, or the legal age where you live if that's higher.
  • US players: a US citizen or resident alien with a US address, physically in the US, in a state where taking part isn't restricted.
  • Named prohibited jurisdictions (the list “include[s], but [is] not limited to”): the US states of Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Washington, New York, New Jersey and Louisiana; Quebec in Canada; and New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia and the ACT in Australia.
  • Embargoed countries: residents of US-embargoed countries or state sponsors of terrorism can't use it.
  • Outside the US: the company makes no representation that the software is appropriate or available elsewhere, and access from other places is at your own risk.
  • Geo-filtering: ClubGG says it has filtering systems to limit access from known ineligible jurisdictions.
We don't explain any way to get around regional restrictions, store region locks or identity checks, and we don't recommend any tool for changing your apparent location. Prize claims require ID verification, and players outside eligible jurisdictions can't claim prizes anyway.

Mainland China

ClubGG isn't on the mainland China App Store. Taking part in or organising online gambling is illegal in mainland China. ClubGG itself only offers play money with no cash value, but any club arrangement that swaps chips for money can expose participants to legal liability, with no protection for their funds.

Taiwan

According to law-firm commentary, Criminal Code Art. 266 was amended with effect from 14 January 2022 to cover online gambling, with a maximum fine of NT$50,000 and an exception for items of “temporary amusement”. Pure play-money use isn't gambling; clubs that cash out chips could well be.

Singapore

The Gambling Control Act came into force on 1 August 2022. Virtual items with no real-world value aren't treated as gambling; social gambling has only a narrow home-based exemption, and officials said online social gambling would be hard to exempt.

Hong Kong and Malaysia

We haven't verified the specific rules on social or club poker in either place and won't draw conclusions. Go by local law and professional advice.

Other things to know

  • English-only chat: §8 of the terms requires English in table chat during play (trivial exceptions aside).
  • Interface language: store listings show English only, and ClubGG hasn't published whether the client offers other languages.
  • Real money: the platform is free play only; for the risks of private club deals see Is ClubGG real money? and ClubGG safety and scams.

If ClubGG is allowed where you are, see the download guide; for tips on keeping play healthy, see responsible gaming.

FAQ

Which US states is ClubGG not available in?
The Terms of Service list prohibited jurisdictions that “include, but not be limited to” Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Washington, New York, New Jersey and Louisiana. ClubGG left Michigan in October 2024, citing changes in state law.
Is ClubGG legal in California or Texas?
Neither state is on the published list of prohibited jurisdictions. But the list is explicitly not exhaustive, and ClubGG says you are responsible for checking that you're in an eligible jurisdiction, so we can't give you a yes. Check the in-app eligibility checks and your state's law.
Can I download ClubGG in mainland China?
ClubGG isn't on the mainland China App Store (the lookup returns no result). Taking part in or organising online gambling is illegal in mainland China. ClubGG itself is free play only, but real-money club deals carry very high risk. We don't explain any way around regional restrictions.
Is ClubGG legal in Taiwan or Singapore?
Playing with chips that have no cash value is generally not gambling. Taiwan's Criminal Code Art. 266, amended from 14 January 2022, covers online gambling with fines up to NT$50,000, with an exception for “temporary amusement”. Singapore's Gambling Control Act (in force 1 August 2022) doesn't treat virtual items with no real-world value as gambling, but has only a narrow home-based social gambling exemption. Clubs that pay out money can fall foul of both. We're not lawyers; ask a local professional.
What about Hong Kong and Malaysia?
ClubGG is on the App Store in both. We haven't verified either place's specific rules on social or club poker, so get local legal advice; arrangements involving real money are the riskiest.
